But will Barrow go on stage with his metaphorical guns blazing? Well, he explained that while some party leaders have managed to keep their cool, there are others who use the opportunity to fire back at the government in power.
Which route will Barrow choose? We asked him today.
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"I will admit Minister Fonseca may have adhere to that policy of making Independence Day more so about Belize and depoliticizing it. I'll be honest, I've done my research. Certainly, not John Briceno, he was a lightning rod, if you could say that, because his speech is always fall flat, but he tried very much I would say to be a lightning rod and to use Independence Day to criticize the government and to try to expose the government. Certainly, when Prime Minister Barrow was leader of the opposition, I could accurately say he was a lightning rod, because you know he is one of the greatest orators ever, if not, the greatest orator and so certainly he never use to play on Independence Day, but you'll have to stay tuned and see what happens on Independence Day. I hope Mike Rudon doesn't cut my mic."
