But at the time the press release was issued on February 7th, we'd received reports that many members of the union were not supporting the concerns, and that Baird had lost the support of most of the membership. These reports also indicated that there was turmoil within the union executive, caused by Baird's divisive style of leadership, and that a few members of the executive had resigned because of it.

Today, we asked Baird about it, and he told us that the protests will speak for themselves.

Andrew Baird, President, KHMHWU
"The partaking of the membership in our actions that will be taking place over the next few days will tell the tale, but however, our union is not unique to any internal turmoil, just like any other organization, there may be conflicts, there are people who have their own reason why they take certain position or so, and I'm not going to deny, there are people who feel like things should be done differently, but our job as a union and as a leader we go by a majority and we must listen to our membership. Those people who have resigned, their term in office would have expired the 25th of February right here, and they decided to resign from the union one month before their term in office, however, in accordance to our constitution, at our AGM held on January 28th, the constitution allows the remaining executive which was 7 to replace, fill those seats rather with interim members and at that AGM the interim members was introduced and was approved unanimously by the membership at that meeting so our executive is full in capacity and we are together, I am not here alone, I'm at this meeting and we have a full executive at this meeting, so that should tell you where that stands."

We'll tell you how it goes tomorrow.
