And, while former police Minister Peyrefitte says the gun license was issued in January of 2021 and revoked in February 0f 2023, the commissioner and this new minister maintain that it is based on the original UDP issuance. Here's how the UDP put it:

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs

"And the one that I see the attorney general raising, which she has the nerve of. I don't know what Finnegan say, more nerve than 32 bad teeth. That was a license granted under the UDP and pressured by him. The individual, I believe, was Najera. And that is something that he insisted on and he pressured the commissioner of police in 2020 before the election. And you might know the back story to it, but you cannot say it. You may get in trouble. But he pressured the commissioner to sign that. You can't listen to the noise Jules, because I see you listening to a lot of things that this A.G. is saying, but it's a lot of things. It's a lot of feces from the UDP that we're still dealing with. It comes in many shapes and forms."

Jules Vasquez:
"And odors?"

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"Yes. and odors.[laughs]"
