Mayor Trapp, Safe As Church

Turning back now to political news - both the UDP and PUP are starting preparations for municipal elections in a few months.

The UDP currently only holds 2 of the 67 seats nationally after a blowout election in 2021.

They're hoping to gain some more - and that starts in San Ignacio Santa Elena - where the Mayor Earl Trapp is the only UDP mayor in the country.

But, incredibly, the three term mayor was still facing an internal challenge mounted - reportedly by the Caucus For Change.
