The Prime Minister wound up the debate around 6:00 pm - and he may have done so with a little lift in his delivery after three of the OTHER cane farmer groups came to his support. This is after the BSCFA's blistering attack on him last week Friday.

Well, the three other growers associations, the Northern Sugar Cane Growers Association, Corozal Sugar Cane Producers Association and Progressive Sugar Cane Producers Association say that they stand with the Prime Minister. They say they, quote, "totally disassociate themselves (from) "the manner and language applied" in the BSCFA's letter to the Prime Minister. They add, quote, "The three stakeholder associations are with belief that the continuous position of the BSCFA will continue to undermine all the opportunities and benefits to a more vibrant industry where investment by the owners can be eroded if the atmosphere of business is not conducive to do so."

They add, quote, "The three stakeholder associations do not support the manner of approach to the present Commission of Inquiry and hereby demand that the terms of reference should include...the global interest of all stakeholder associations." End quote.
