Turning now to politics, this afternoon at around 2:00 pm, Brian Yellowman Audinett went to the Queen Street Police Station to make a statement against his party leader Shyne Barrow.

In the statement, Audinett made specific criminal allegations against Barrow - which police will now have to investigate.

But what did he allege? Well, up to news time he was still giving the statement, so we cannot say with certainty.

But, how did it come to this? After all, Yellowman is considered a UDP street General - second, he is a senior campaign captain in Barrow's Mesopotamia constituency. Plus, he was a candidate on the UDP's Belize City municipal slate.

Well, Yellowman has also been a longtime employee at the party's secretariat - and the UDP alleges that he ran multiple red lights at that job so he was fired by the Secretary General.

And, ever since then, Yellowman claims that it's his party leader Shyne Barrow who was behind it - and that Barrow wanted to silence him. He made a formal complaint to the party's chairman - but that was dismissed for lack of evidence. So today Yellowman went to make a police report. But, in the interim a settlement deed was offered to him for him to sign. Under that agreement, Yellowman would make no statement against his party leader, and would not even go near to the party headquarters. It was never signed.
