Dorothy Bradley was brought out of retirement to return as Auditor General in August of 2022 on a two year contract.

It was unprecedented to have an auditor general on contract - but the government said it was necessary.

Well, almost two years later, and with that office spinning wheel much to the delight of the political directorate - the president of the PSU says Dorothy's gotta go!:

Dean Flowers, President PSU
"We need to ensure that come June or July one, that no auditor general contract expires, that it not be renewed, that she not be brought back, and that somebody with more competence, experience and understanding of the important role of the Auditor General to conduct risk audits across the public service is is is ultimately appointed. But clearly she has demonstrated that she is not fit for purpose for that office despite having been brought back for two years. I dare the Prime Minister to say to this nation what is it that she has accomplished in the two years that he has decided to pay her to come out of retirement? As I dare the Prime Minister there, the Minister of Public Service. I dare any one of them to come on national radio, on TV and to say to this nation, What has been the benefit of bringing the current Auditor General?"
