And for the UDP City Council to the City Hall - the present council hasn't published an audit since March 2021 - which was the start of their last term in office.
That's more than 3 years ago - from a council which pledged transparency and public accountability.
We asked the mayor about it today and he said that a lot of factors have kept them back recently- but soon more updated numbers will be available to the public.

"We are very, very close to completing that. Remember, we had been backlogged due to the fact that COVID came on us and thereafter two years amounted on us and so we wanted to ensure that we complete, we have already completed the year 2022."
"We're looking to complete 2023 by the end of August and then we have a deadline for the year ending March 2024 by the end of December. So you'll be seeing essentially three external audited financials for the Belize City Council."
