Activist Jerry Enriquez can claim a victory tonight in his continuing public-interest litigation against the Judicial and Legal Service Commission- known as the JLSC.

In a hearing at the High Court this afternoon, Justice Martha Alexander granted him leave to sue the JLSC over its handling of his complaint of judicial misconduct against Justice Tawanda Hondora.

This comes after the JLSC dismissed his complaint against Justice Hondora in October with a decision that only registered a few terse lines. Enriquez accuses Hondora of showing judicial bias against his case which challenged the legality of the voters list before the March general election.

Commenting on this landmark case against the JLSC, Enriquez stated: "we have cleared this important hurdle, which will allow me to pursue my claim against the JLSC. I filed a genuine, serious complaint of judicial misconduct, corruption, and bias, and I believe the Commission did not meaningfully consider it."
