The Police Department's annual Comparative Statistics presentation was held on Thursday January 22nd but the media was not invited as was customary - right up until last year.
Well when we asked the Minister in charge he said that he was unaware of the media snub and it was the COMPOL's call to invite us:

"Can you talk to us about why the media was not invited toCompstat? "

"That was my first Compstat that I was invited, as well by the Commissioner of Police. I have not, I didn't know that you were not invited. I will ask the Commissioner of Police. I think it's important that the media is invited or not. So They can go through the statistics that we have compiled for the year."
Reporter:
"This was the first time in years when the media hasn't been invited. So you're saying as a minister, you weren't aware that we were not given the invitation?"

"That was also my first time that I have been invited. As you know, I've been at that ministry for the past two months. So I was also invited, and I went there. If I had known the media was not invited, I would have been the one to make sure that the Commissioner of Police invites you."
