But one independent senator didn't walk out, and that's the church representative Luis Wade.
Faber says Wade may have stayed inside, but he shares their position and the churches are on their side of the opposition and the social partners.

"What was your thoughts on Mr Wade, Senator Wade deciding to stay though in your view is he what people categorize as a sell out in the moment?"

Patrick Faber, UDP Senator
"Well I wouldn't go so far I wouldn't say that I would merely say that I know from his position with some of the other media heads, Jules Vasquez and I think Mose Hyde and he himself at one point held an entire press conference to say how strongly they opposed this and I think he missed a wonderful opportunity to send that message loud and clear in particular since it affects his business but we understand that he did not sit there in his capacity as a private business man, but even more so then because we know the churches position I believe he should have left with the other senators and made the powerful stance, in fact I want people to understand that had Senator Louis Wade walked out with the rest of us that the meeting itself would not have been able to continue because they would not have had a quorum in the senators you know the opposition has three members and there are four senators there so it would have been 7 to 6 and the quorum necessarily would not, I believe that is the case would not have been possible and the meeting would have had to close down for the time. And maybe that is a signal we want to explore for the future."
