Shane Vasquez's New Year's Day Sprint to Victory

Staged annually on January first - the KREM New Year's Day Cycling Classic is one of the most anticipated events on the racing calendar - as it sets the stage for the rest of the year. And Shane Vasquez was eager to prove that last year's heroic victory at the Cross Country was no flash in the pan. So he powered into the finish at Belcan Bridge in prime position for a win. Here's the sprint.

"It is really an honor for me to win this race for Western Spirits Cycling Team and when it comes to big prizes, throughout the season they will know more or less where our team stands so I won't elaborate much on that. Today was my say, you never know what could happen in the world of cycling."
