And switching gears now - Belize is riding high after a bronze medal finish in the under 17 Centro Basket championship.
Now, if you're not familiar with the tournament - you may say that a bronze medal is third place - but that is the very best Belize has EVER done in regional basketball. And, yes, it is a better outcome than the gold Belize's senior men won at the CARICOM championships because CENTROBASKET is bigger and much more competitive than CARICOM.
It includes the powerhouses of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic - both of which Belize faced and lost to - on their way to Bronze.
Jules Vasquez has the story of the last two days of play:
Puerto Rico won the gold, and Dominican Republic the silver.
So, as you just heard, this team advances to the FIBA Americas U 18, and to put it in historical context, this is the furthest any Belizean sports team has gone - except for the softball women of 1979 - who won bronze at the Pan AM games.
