A tropical wave crossed the country today. The Weather Bureau estimates it’ll dump 2 to 4 inches of rain on Belize. But that is the least of our worries tonight because right behind that tropical wave, there is another one which shows sign of development. Forecaster Dennis Gonguez discussed it with us today.

Dennis Gonguez, Meteorologist
“There is another system that is even more interesting. It looks a bit as though it could develop into a tropical depression during the next day or so.”

Keith Swift,
So for people planning their weekend, what should they know?

Dennis Gonguez,
“Well the first part of the weekend today and tomorrow morning will be a bit wet and we expect the showers to decrease a bit in between the two systems, before the second system arrives, and then on Sunday as the system nears showers should be increased. So it seems there will be a slight break before the arrival of the second system. But it looks fairly well organized and well structured.”
