The past few months have been filled with discussions about BTL: who got paid, who got played, and who's got the money.
But very little has been said about the 400 BTL employees - whose future seems to have become suddenly uncertain as they are taken for a ride on the Prosser/Ashcroft/Fonseca roller coaster. But those employees and the Communication Workers Union aren't going to take it anymore.
At 5:00 o' clock today - employees gathered on the multi purpose court behind the Esquivel Telecom Center to discuss what union heads will only refer to as a "plan of action". 7NEWS was on the scene but we weren't allowed inside to tape the meeting - which about 150 employees attended. The meeting finished just after 6:00 pm - but union representatives said they wouldn't speak to the media.
What we were able to find out is that the union has planned what it calls a code red. What code red means - no one will say - but it's clear that the long ignored union is demanding some answers quickly. Presently those answers would have to come from Ashcroft's caretaker CEO Dean Boyce who continues to run the company - even after GOB has paid $114 million to buy the shares.
