A cane farmer from Xaibe Village in Corozal has an extra $25,000 to spend. Ines Roberts hit Saturday's Lotto jackpot of $57,500. He'll only take home half that amount because he is sharing the jackpot with Lennox Flowers. The winning numbers were 5, 11, 15, 21, and 25. And while recent winners have dreamt up their numbers or gotten it from sweet wrappers, you might be surprised how Roberts chose his winning numbers.
Keith Swift,
How did you choose your winning numbers?
Ines Roberts, LOTTO Winner
"I made my numbers because about a year ago those numbers almost played and that is why I picked the 05 and 11."
Keith Swift,
You play those numbers every week?
Ines Roberts,
"I only bought two tickets because the LOTTO is small this time. I used to buy five, six, up to ten tickets."
Keith Swift,
What are you going to do with that money?
Ines Roberts,
"My house expansion, that's the plan."
Keith Swift,
You're going to continue playing LOTTO?
Ines Roberts,
"Yes man, why not."
Lennox Flowers picked up his check yesterday. The jackpot for Wednesday has rolled back to an even $50,000.
