Butane Prices Shoot Up By $5!

Last week it was gasoline and today it was butane which shot up an amazing $5. You heard right. Today government announced that the price for a one hundred pound cylinder of butane gas was being increased from $105 to $110 in Belize City. That’s the controlled price and if you add on $2 for delivery, you will be paying a cool $112 for a 100 pound cylinder of gas.

The increase of $5 was countrywide and so prices similarly increased in the districts. Belmopan and Dangriga are now at $112; its $110 in Corozal; $113 in Punta Gorda; $115 in San Ignacio; and $116 in Benque. The last butane price increase was in August when prices increased by a now modest $2.
