One month ago on this newscast you heard developer Mike Feinstein speak about his Stake Bank cruise tourism project. In that interview he said Royal Caribbean Cruise Line was his working partner. Royal Caribbean is the second largest cruise company in the world, so that’s major backative for his project.

But based on that very declaration in that interview, eamon Couyrtenay, the attorney for the competition, Luke Espat’s, Belize Cruise Terminal Limited sent Royal Caribbean a stiff letter. The threatened to sue them in Belize and in the United States for interference with the Port of Belize Limited and its commercial arrangements.

Well Royal Caribbean's Vice President of Commerical Devleopment John Tercek has responded and we found it surprising. 7NEWS has obtained a letter from Royal Caribbean International to Courtenay saying it is not Mike Feinstein’s partners. The letter says, “please be advised that Royal Caribbean International is not a partner in the Stake Bank Project.”

Seems like a deathblow for Feinstein but speaking with him this evening he was unperturbed. He said that his project is not with Royal Caribbean but with one of its affiliates and his partnership continues un-disturbed.
