Another airline is getting ready to start flying to Belize.
Beginning on December 11, 2021, Budget carrier, Frontier Airlines, Frontier will start to offer a non-stop service from Belize to Denver and to Orlando, Florida. Initially, the service will only be offered on Saturday, but it will be available year-round, with the potential for additional growth in the future.
Belize is now one of 20 new, non-stop routes that Frontier is adding to its list of destinations where its customers can fly to. Others include Antigua & Barbuda, Liberia, Costa Rica and Turks & Caicos.
In a video released on their website today, the company's Vice President of Commercial discussed these new routes:
Daniel Shurz - Senior VP of Commercial, Frontier Airlines
"We've announced a number of new international marks, and a number of new domestic markets, a total of 20 new markets for Frontier's system, and it's a really big announcement as we continue to expand low fares across the country."

"When we're looking to add new routes to the system, including new destinations, we look for a couple of things. We look for markets that don't have enough service, so markets where there's good demand and there is no non-stop service. And we look for situations where fares are very high because when fares are high, even when there's non-stop service, it suggests that there's an opportunity for more customers to fly if only low fares were available."
"New customers to Frontier can expect low fares, which is our everyday offering. They can also choose the options they want for their travel, and not be forced to pay for the things they don't."
The BTB also announced that Belize's effort to increase its international flight connectivity is already having a positive impact on the tourism industry. For the month of May, 19,544 overnight visitors came to Belize; In the month of June, 26,215 overnight tourists visited Belize, which represents a 34% increase over May. If the numbers for July continue with this upward trend, Belize's tourism industry will be well on the path to recovery.
