The Ministry of Health's vaccination campaign is still on a roll and one major part of it is the pop-up mini clinics. This acts as an incentive since those who normally wouldn't be able to make it to the vaccination sites can now have the vaccine come to them. Today, those on Albert Street got the chance to get that jab and get on with their day. The health educator for the Central Health Region told us more.

Emir Castaneda, Health Educator, Central Health Region
"We're doing what is called our pop up vaccine drives where everyday we go to different sites and we try to reach as much people as we can. This morning we're here on Albert Street doing our vaccine drive so whoever is out here wants to take their vaccines they're welcome to come and take it as we speak."

Courtney Menzies:
"Is this it the first time you're here in downtown Belize City?"

Emir Castaneda
"No we were here last Tuesday."

Courtney Menzies:
"And did you get a crowd then?"

Emir Castaneda
"Yes, we did about close to 40 passersby, workers who were around. Some of then because they're working they cannot reach our permanent sites at the central health region or by the swift hall some of them are working here, they give them a little time off, they come and they do it fifteen twenty minutes and then they go back to work."

Courtney Menzies:
"So people have been receptive to them?"

Emir Castaneda
"We are here, when people see and they about the vaccine pop up sites, they come here, ask questions, we provide education, and then they decide to take their vaccines."

"We're also distributing masks and that's because this month we're doing a massive vaccine campaign, before you relax get vax, and we're doing this countrywide and we will continue to do this kind of events."

60 people were vaccinated at that popup clinic today.
