Last month, there was an increase in the price which you, the consumer, pay to refill your cooking gas tank. Tonight, the Belize Bureau of Standards is announcing that at midnight tonight, there will be another price increase.
Right now, the wholesale price for liquefied petroleum gas is 3 dollars and 72 cents per gallon. The new price will be 3 dollars and 86 cents per gallon.
The retail price in all urban areas of the country is currently being regulated at 1 dollar and 21 cents per pound, or 121 dollars for a hundred-pound tank. The new price will be 1 dollar and 24 cents per pound, or 124 dollars for a hundred-pound cylinder. Prices will be a little higher in the rural areas of the country.
