And even though it's getting back its money - the company isn't finished in court yet.

It applied to the high court for judicial review of the magistrate's decision on previous orders for continued detention of the company's money.

Though the money is now being returned - that judgement could come down in two months. And when it does, if it is favorable, Barrow says Caribbean International Brewery can sue the government for loss of business:

Dean Barrow, Former Prime Minister

"If the company so choose thereafter, it could go to court for damages done by way of the fact that it was deprived of a great deal of working capital. Damage done especially to its reputation; damage done by way of the fact that a number of its distributers of its marketing agents most of whom are Chinese withdrew. After the cash was seized and in fact the applications for continued detention on the basis that this is funny money and that there may be or likely is some kind of money laundering involved. That caused a number, perhaps even the majority of the distributers to take fright and to withdraw. Result is that the business has contracted extremely steeply and that is a basis on which the company, especially now will certainly be able to ask for damages, for compensation."
