On Friday we told you about the big win in Court for Caribbean International Brewery, the company that makes Mine Beer, among others brews.
The Orange Walk Magistrate ruled that the Financial Intelligence Unit must return the 3.2 million dollars in cash which police seized from the company's safe during a two day raid back in October of 2022.
But, how do you return so much cash? That's the FIU's problem now - and, yesterday, their attorney Dean Barrow told us that it is slightly tricky procedure - for which there may be no precedent:

Dean Barrow, Former Prime Minister
"In the past nothing like this at this scale has happened, but where cash has been seized in similar circumstances and the cash is being returned. The FIU would give it back in the same form in which it was seized. That is by way of cash. Now that's a boatload of money to have to propose to give back in cash form. That's an invitation to persons of bad mind or maybe in need to come and do their worst. Mrs Magann has therefore agreed that perhaps the money can be returned to the account of the company. Their account in is Atlantic Bank by way of a sort of local bank transfer."
