He was granted bail in July of 2022 for being a member of a gang, and then quickly absconded to the US thereafter. Now he is back in Belize only to find himself in custody yet again. He is 33 year old Supal street figure, Erwin Fitzgibbon.

Fitzgibbon was given bail on the condition that he appear five days a week to sign in at the police station, however - having absconded - he failed to uphold this. The court had ordered that he hand over his travel documents to the clerk of court after he was granted bail but also failed to do so.

So, Fitzgibbon was arraigned this evening before magistrate Brown and was read four charges of contempt to judicial order, to which he pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment for each count, totaling to 12 months. However since the offenses arise from one set of circumstances, the sentence was ordered to run concurrently, meaning that he will only serve three months in prison. Fitzgibbon is expected to be released on October 23rd 2023.
