Worth The Fight, Firefighters Get Allowances

Almost a year ago, firefighters were fighting for extra allowances that should have already been included in their package. These included hazard, danger, wet and dirty, and EMS. They also requested an increase in housing allowance.

The PSU was fighting alongside them and last week, a memo was issued stating that the compendium of allowances was adjusted and that those listed would be included. That's about $1,200 worth of allowances added to the compendium. This will go into effect on May 1st.
