But the Minister has a strong message, saying that they will be weaning out the corrupt employees who cannot adjust to the standard the NBC must uphold:

Reporter
"Alright, and so what has it been like transitioning in terms of the persons that are working, the employees? Have they been able to adapt to the style of management that you guys have? Because you know, before this they were on their own show. So what has it been like for them?"

Dr. Louis Zabaneh, Minister of Transport

"Now listen, the fact that you have a James bus line or a Floralia or a Westline that has been operating, and in the case of James, the oldest bus line operating. It means that you have had good employees over the years. You have solid people, solid drivers and conductors over the years. But they will be the first to tell you that you have many of them too, who sadly are corrupted. And they have to learn that you work hard, you get your pay, that you're due, and then the collections that are made are for the company because the buses need to be maintained.Other people need to get their salaries, etc. We have to use those funds to, for example, keep improving and maintaining our terminals. So we are appealing to them that those practices of the past need to go away now and it will be the duty of the management of National Bus Company for them to ensure that they have the best people working who are loyal, who are competent and who are honest. So if there's anybody who cannot meet those standards. I believe they will move away on their own because those will be the standards that we are going to be enforcing."
