Veteran public officer Andrew Wade is spending his second night on remand after he was allegedly found in his Belmopan home with 16 pounds of marijuana yesterday.
Police gave us a recap:
ASP Stacy Smith, Police Staff Officer
"Police have formally arrested and charged Andrew Wade, a 45 year old public servant of Belmopan City for the offense of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another. The arrest follows police's execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Picini area of Belmopan, in the presence of Mr. Weed. This search resulted in the discovery of ten parcels of suspected cannabis, which, when weighed, amounted to 16.3 pounds."
Jules Vasquez
"I know he's been charged for drug trafficking, but is there any indication that Mr. Wade has been acting or working as a drug trafficker for a period of time?"

ASP Stacy Smith, Police Staff Officer
"I will not speculate. I will leave to what is facts, which is that the search warrant was executed at his residence, and it resulted in the discovery of that sum of drugs."
Street sources tell us that the marijuana found in Wade's home is considered high grade and has a wholesale street value upwards of 20 thousand dollars.
