Two tourism police officers appeared in court today as one is accused of trying to kill the other in the police station! Tourism police officer, Mark Chiac was charged with attempted murder, wounding, and use of deadly means of harm against his colleague Allen Pook. Yesterday, Chiac had just come off duty and fired his service revolver and it hit Pook's radio, causing a piece of plastic to splinter and wound his forehead. Chiac's attorney, Hubert Elrington, said it was an accident that happened as Chiac was setting his gun down. But Prosecutor Linsbert Willis objected strenuously to bail claiming that Chiac fired with malice and meant to hurt Pook. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers pointed out that in fact Pook had not been injured by the bullet - only grazed with some plastic. With that, she said there was no proof that he intended to hurt him - and granted him bail of 4,500 dollars.
