Allegations of sexual misconduct are looming over an Excelsior High School teacher.
On June 2nd, 34 year old Norman Rodriguez appeared before Magistrate Harrison Huelett where he was read three charges of carnal knowledge.
A fifteen-year-old first form student complained to authorities that on at least three occasions between April 19 and May 26, Rodriguez had sexual intercourse with her. Rodriguez was granted bail of $6,000 or three sureties of $2,000, which he met. He is to reappear in court on July 5.
Meanwhile he is suspended from school as the Excelsior School board is investigating the allegations as well. The report against Rodriguez was taken before the board on June 1st and he was suspended forthwith as is the norm with any allegation of this nature. Rodriguez was the girl's Social Studies teacher.
