Two cousins are lucky to be alive tonight after they survived a crazed machete attack in Concepcion village, Corozal.
Juan Mendez along with his cousin Alex are in the KHMH listed in a serious condition with bandaged heads and arms after they were attacked yesterday afternoon. The cousins say they were drinking along with David Zelaya when he pulled a machete in and simply went wild with it. 30 year old Juan Mendez told us from his hospital bed he still does not know why he was attacked.

“He attacked me with a machete. He came into my house and he began to attack us with a machete. He chopped us for nothing.”
KS: Why?
Juan Mendez,
“We don’t know. He was fighting with his wife about money and then he came with the machete inside his pants and then he came to my door and began to hit us. We didn’t do anything.”
Police have detained David Zelaya pending the outcome of their investigations.
