Today was the twentieth day and counting that residents in the northern villages of San Pedro, Yo Chen and Cristo Rey do not have water. The Ministry of Local Government mediated a meeting between village council leaders and the water board but the last word coming out of that meeting was that both sides have again locked horns on the issue of the price of water. The water board isn't budging from its demand of $9 and $10. While the villages have agreed to a compromise and settle to pay $8 and $9. Again last word is that the water board rejected that offer.
