Over the past 2 years Belize Corrugated Pipes near the Haulover Bridge on the Northern Highway has been burglarized at least thirty times. This year alone thieves have made their way into the store 7 times. All this while the business' owner, who lives on the compound, hasn't caught anyone. That was until Friday morning.
Sometime around 12:30 am, the store's owners were awakened by alarms going off inside their store. They found that someone had gained entry into the back of their store by prying open one of the zinc sheets. Noises were still coming from inside, and so they decided to wait for the thief at his entry point with a flare gun on the ready.
Soon enough Chester Requena came crawling out, only to be shot directly in the face by the flare gun. He crawled back into the building where police found him with a very swollen face. Chester Requena was then charged with burglary and handling stolen property.
