And in another attempted robbery in the same general area that may or may not be related, at around 9:00 pm last night, two bandits stormed into a boathouse in the Vista Del Mar Area of Ladyville. 7NEWS has confirmed that the boathouse belongs to the Minister of Home Affairs and the area's representative Ralph Fonseca.

A release from Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid said that investigators believe it was the same Darron Waight and his accomplice who were trying to steal Fonseca's boat to rob McIntosh's shrimp farm. The official police report is that the men entered the boathouse and held up the wife of the security guard, Darilia Garcia. Garcia was beaten, tied up, and robbed of her cell phone and some jewelry. Police further report that the two men jumped into the boat parked inside the locked boat house and attempted to start it but were unsuccessful.

How is this related to the McIntosh holdup? Well our sources say it isn't but again the official police report is that the men wanted to steal Fonseca's boat to rob Charles McIntosh's shrimp farm. McIntosh told us that is unlikely since he has no money at his shrimp farm and the men weren't after his shrimp farm money, they were after the money from his gas station. Police however say they will continue to investigate.
