The kidnapping case against Oscar Bonilla continued in Magistrate's Court today. This morning Bonilla along with other family members appeared before Magistrate Earl Jones where the matter was adjourned until September 26th.
As has been widely reported, Bonilla is the father of an 11-year-old girl who was also arrested and remanded for kidnapping. The charge came up after Bonilla's 11-year-old daughter pointed out a young man who she claims raped her and a friend. Acting as many fathers might, Bonilla along with the other girl's father, picked up the young man accused of the crime and took him to Burrell Boom and later to the police station. The young man claimed he was kidnapped and Bonilla was charged along with three others. After that, on the directive of the DPP, his 11-year-old daughter was also picked up and charged for abetment to kidnapping.
