A man was convicted of burglary today after police scenes of crimes specialists were able to pick up and match fingerprints at the scene of the crime. Sometime between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, Manuel Polanco's home in Trial Farm Village was broken into and the thief made off with $2,995. Scenes of crimes personnel were able to pick up fingerprints left on a jewelry box and then matched it with those of Julian Polanco. In court today Polanco appeared in Orange Walk Magistrate's Court where he was found guilty of burglary based on the fingerprint match and was fined $3,000 in default he is to serve 3 years in prison.
