The village communities of the Belize River Valley are the cornerstone of Belize's colonial history and now 6 young ladies hope to bring new glamour to that history in the second Miss Rural Pageant. Organizer Paulette Dawson told us why miss rural could have as much historical
Paulette Dawson, Organizer
"This is the second annual Miss Rural and the point of the pageant is for all the surrounding areas, towns and villages, to start coming together and developing their village. So each year the winner gets to host the following year. I don't think it will be a pageant to miss since we have six villages; we have Rancho Dolores, Doublehead Cabbage, Burrell Boom, Maskall, Crooked Tree and Biscayne so we have people from all over."
The pageant will take place tomorrow night in Burrell Boom.
