Corozal Police intercepted equipment that was going to be used in a major drug operation. On Thursday 13th April Corozal police descended upon a farm in an area off mile 3 on the Consejo Road.
Inside a concrete storeroom, they found (1) Bushmaster brand AR15 rifle, (2) pump action shotguns (1) red wooden brand rifle, (3) AK47 rifles and an assortment of magazines with various calibers of ammunition. Police also discovered a number of handheld and base set radios including chargers, batteries, adapters and antennas.Satellite phones and bag cellular phones, global position systems (GPS), (2) night vision goggles, camouflage clothing and (2) Igloo ice coolers were also found.
No one was in the area at the time. However, police have detained two persons for questioning.
