He is accused of raping a man at knifepoint and 24-year-old Carlos Figueroa said he did it because he was drunk. The Honduran national was charged with aggravated assault, harm, and committing an unnatural crime.
The alleged victim told police that on Easter Sunday he was at a "get together" in King's Park and went to use the bathroom. That is when the victim claims Figueroa entered and held a knife to his throat and forcefully sodomized him. A doctor confirmed that the alleged victim had been penetrated.
In court today a disheveled Figueroa spoke with the help of a translator and told Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord that he was drunk when the incident occurred. That excuse wasn't good enough and he was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until May 19th.
