A four year old was killed in a deadly one car accident yesterday afternoon. 26 year old Erlin Anderson Sr. along with his family were returning to their home in Orange Walk from the airport when the van they were in suffered a blowout. That set off a deadly domino effect as the van flipped several times between miles 41 and 42 on the Northern Highway. When it landed Erlin Anderson Jr. and 27-year-old Elen Gray Makeba Linarez were dead and the others received varying degrees of injuries.
36-year-old Kimberly Anderson suffered a fractured left hip while 14-year-old Lori and 32-year-old Dennis Anderson as well as 16-year-old Joseph Pate were admitted to the Northern Regional Hospital with head and body injuries. The driver Erlin Anderson Sr. was also injured and hospitalized. A sad footnote is that they were enroute to the airport to drop off the Andersons for a flight to New Jersey which they missed. Police say they have taken urine samples to verify if alcohol played a part in the tragedy.
