A major accident on a notorious stretch Western Highway has left one man injured. Sometime around 5 yesterday evening Miguel Perez Jr. was traveling toward Belmopan when he lost control of his Isuzu Rodeo near mile 20 and ran off the road and tumbled violently for a few hundred feet.
These images were taken by videographer Javier Molina. Perez was flung out of the vehicle and passers-by assisted him. He was put in the bed of a pickup truck and transported toward Belize City. But before he could reach personnel from a BERT ambulance that had been dispatched took over just outside of Hattieville from where he was transported into Belize City.
We were unable to establish if Perez was brought to the KHMH as new policy at that hospital dictates that no information as regards patients can be released to the media.
