Fire Rips Home of Mother and Her 9 Children

A woman and her nine children are trying to put their home back together this evening after one of her sons set her home on fire on Friday night.

At 7:30 on Friday night, the Fire Department responded to a call about a fire on Caesar Ridge Road. They found a concrete structure with smoke streaming through the windows indicating that the fire was contained inside. The fire crew broke down the door and found two mattresses and some clothes on fire. It was quickly brought under control and no one was hurt.

So far, police and fire investigators have determined that one of the homeowner’s sons – a 20 year old with mental problems was playing with a lighter and that started the fire.

The building was not insured.
