It may be 56 years old – and coming off its worst defeat at the polls, ever – but Belize’s grand old party, the PUP is looking alive or, at least, making a good show of it. On Friday at the National Party Council meeting, the party’s public relations Chairman Yasser Musa announced the launch of Positive Vibes Radio – a new wholly owned PUP radio station which the party hopes will get its message out. The station will reportedly subsume FM 2000 and be built off its platform, working towards national coverage on the frequency of 102.9 FM.
The man who will run the radio station is Vaughan Gill, formerly government’s chief press strategist and media masseuse. Gill told us he is leaving the government service, and will work as programme organizer and news director. That’s what Gill’s going to be doing, and taking his place at the Government Press Office will be talk show host Nuri
Muhammad.
