Orange Walk Police shot a man on Sunday at around 7:30 - and it's all because of some un-customed beer. On that night police accompanied Customs personnel to the home of Yo Creek resident Bartolo Novelo to search for un-customed goods.
Upon the officer's arrival at his home Police say Novelo pulled out a Shotgun. Police say they managed to disarm Novelo but he continued to resist grabbing a machete and making advances on the lawmen. As a result police shot Novelo to the right foot. With him out of the way, Customs found several cases of beer at the residence. An investigation has been launched to determine if the police's use of force was justifiable.
