It wasn't reported, but last night there was a burglary at the police booth on Cemetery Lane. Police say they don't who did it but appears they think 25-year-old Denroy Lopez does. Late this evening he came to our studios after being released from police custody. He says after being roughed up, he was sent on a mission to lead police to who committed the burglary - and if he doesn't play that informer role, well he is afraid what will happen next - he came to us with his dilemma.
Denroy Lopez: I was smoking a week. I threw my weed in the corner of my house and he picked up my weed but he didn't charge me for my weed. He took to the station and said that I know about some gun that they broke into some station. He told me I know the person who went because he know the people but the third they don't know but I knows. So I got a deal from Mr. Palomo, I must go in the hood and find out who moved the boat and who has the guns. So I am telling Mr. Palomo that I don't know.
KS: Did you have anything to do with what happened last night?
Denroy Lopez: No.
KS: So why are you worried?
Denroy Lopez: Because I am innocent. If I do a crime, I don't worry because I do the crime but when I don't do the crime I worry.
KS: What do you worry will happen to you tomorrow?
Denroy Lopez: Well all they police did was beat man. They handcuff me back way with two handcuffs and they choke me and do me a lot of things.
KS: They released you but you said you are still afraid because of what?
Denroy Lopez: They can come to my house anytime, two o'clock, one o'clock.
KS: What have they told you that you need to do or else you will be arrested?
Denroy Lopez: It is like they want me to do their job. I must investigate into their crime...they want me to tell them who thief the guns and who took the boat but I don't know.
There was a break in - but from what we have been able to determine, police have not confirmed what was stolen.
