And while the NTUCB leaders are energized and outraged by the Perriot firing, they are not alone; two PUP representatives and a standard bearer have also weighed in with their condemnation.

Albert Area Representative Mark Espat, Lake-I representative Cordel Hyde and Collet standard bearer Carolyn Trench Sandiford issued a joint release today calling the Christine Perriot firing, "blatant union busting."

The release notes that the PUP was founded on the principles of a labour movement, and as such, "candidates… Should be squarely on the side of the workers and not the special interests." And if that's not clear enough, the special interests in this case would be Michael Ashcroft.

The release calls on BTL's majority ownership and senior management to immediately reinstate Mrs. Perriot.
