81-year-old Harry Duesbury, a resident of San Andres Village also in Corozal was killed 8 days ago, stabbed 11 times to his chest and bludgeoned with a baseball bat. Three males, aged 15, 17 and 26 have been charged for murder, and police could make an already compelling case against them airtight this week if, in addition to the stolen briefcase, they recover the suspected murder weapon. Reports to 7NEWS say that police know the location of the weapon based on what one of the accused disclosed in a caution statement. But they'll need to dig it up, because it was reportedly buried by the trio who killed him.

Duesbury had been assisting the 15 year old, as he had been known to do with other youths in the community going back over some years.

Investigators believe that sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, it is that youth who supposedly led the other two into his home to stage a robbery. Duesbury was asleep when his assailants launched their attack.

Contrary to what had been aired a week ago, there is no suggestion that Harry Duesbury had any sort of inappropriate relationship with his attackers. It was not a crime of passion; tragically it simply appears to be a case of murder motivated by a robbery. We apologize to the Duesbury family for any distress we may have caused.
