Juror Is Aunt of Accused Killer

Alburn Plunkett was supposed to go on trial for murder but a man’s fate was put on hold today after one of 12 jurors selected to judge him told the court that she just found out the accused is her nephew. The woman explained that she became aware that he was her nephew two days before. Justice Michelle Arana had no choice but to immediately discharge the jury of 12 persons which had been selected to hear Plunkett’s murder trial. He will be re-tried by another jury and was sent back to prison on remand.

He is accusing of shooting Cassius Meyers on December 8 of 2006.
