2 Customs Officers Charged for Evasion of Duties

Today Comptroller of Customs Gregory Gibson confirmed to 7NEWS that as a two of his officers and a security guard will be charged for a container supposedly filled with spice and declared for export to neighbouring Mexico which never did cross the border. In a May ninth interview with 7NEWS Gibson said that there is no evidence to suggest the container was exported from Belize to Mexico.

The two officers have been identified as Steve Young and Raul Cawich. According to Gibson both will be charged for the evasion of duties in connection to the incident. Meanwhile the security guard identified as Sydney Ramclam has been under suspension but he is also expected to be charged.
