Three days after forty seven year old Phillip Garoy was shot in the neck, the security guard remains on life support and his prognosis is grim. Garoy has not been responding and is basically being kept alive by a machine. But Garoy’s family, employer and co-workers are hoping against all odds that things will take a turn for the better. But if no improvement is recorded within the next three to four days the family will have to then make the very difficult decision to remove the life support.

On the law enforcement side, police have been reviewing the surveillance tape removed from the Twinz Supermarket on St. Thomas Street.

After eight on Monday night three men held up the storeowner. Garoy who was on duty but unarmed ran to the elderly man’s rescue but a struggle ensued and the gun went off, hitting him in the neck. The three assailants then ran away empty handed. No one has been detained.
