Stepfather Charged for Raping Stepdaughter

A 32 year old man is behind bars today for allegedly raping his 15 year old stepdaughter. The 15 year old girl, who is from Belize City, made the report in the presence of an aunt. She claims it happened between 8 and 9 on the night of August 21st. She says her stepfather woke her up. He was naked and forced her to have sex. She says he told her that if she didn't, he would hurt one of her relatives.

The report was made yesterday, 11 days after it allegedly occurred. A doctor confirmed that the girl was carnally known. Magistrate Roberto Ordonez remanded the man who is a forklift operator, whose name we are not releasing to protect his stepdaughter, until October 1st.
